CCPAE
Agrarian ecological production, also known as biological or
organic production, is an agrarian system of production
whose objective is to produce maximum quality products,
respecting the environment and not using artificial
chemicals (hormones, medicines, chemical fertilizers,
pesticides, etc).
Organic production is regulated by a European law (EU
Regulation 2029/91) which defines the
production process, labeling and control system of these
products.
The regulation, in Catalonia, is directed by the Catalan
Council for Agrarian Ecological Production. It is the only
organization that certifies all food products of vegetable
or animal origin, processed or not, obtained in Catalonia.
